Q. What age are the helmets suitable for?
A. Our helmets are designed for little adventurers aged 2–6 years, with adjustable straps and dial-fit for a snug, secure fit as your child grows.
Q. How do I measure my child’s head for the right fit?
A. Use a soft measuring tape around the widest part of your child’s head (just above the eyebrows and ears). Compare the measurement to our sizing guide to ensure the perfect fit.
Q. Are the helmets safety certified?
Yes! All Zalane helmets are CE certified and conform to the EN1078:2012+A1:2012 safety standard.
Q. What’s the inside of the helmet made of?
A. The inner shell is crafted with lightweight EPS foam that absorbs impact, while the smooth inner padding ensures comfort during every adventure.
Q. Can my child wear the helmet for scooters and skateboards too?
A. Yes, our helmets are perfect for bikes, balance bikes, scooters, and skateboards making them a versatile safety essential.
Q. How much does a Zalane helmet weigh?
A. Our helmets are lightweight (around 250–300g), so kids stay comfortable without feeling weighed down or compromising on safety.
Q. How do I clean the helmet?
A. Simply wipe the outer shell with a damp cloth. The interior padding can be gently removed and hand-washed in cool water, then air-dried before reattaching.
Q. How long will the helmet last?
A. With proper care, a helmet can last several years. However, we recommend replacing it after a major impact or every 3–5 years to ensure maximum safety.
If you live in the Geelong area and would like to collect your order from our store, simply select ‘pickup’ at the checkout. Check our Instagram page (@baykids.au) for up-to-date opening hours.
If you live outside of this area (but still within Australia), a flat rate of AU$12 (standard shipping) or $15 (express shipping) applies for orders under AU$150. Orders over AU$150 will be sent for free with standard shipping, or can upgrade to express for a discounted rate of $7.
Please note, these rates exclude bulky items, Banwood and furniture. Orders containing bulky items or Banwood products will be charged a higher rate for shipping (AU$18 - applied at checkout), and the free shipping threshold will not apply.
Orders placed before 12pm will be packed and sent on the same business day and you will receive a tracking number upon dispatch.
We provide free gift wrapping, please add an order note at checkout if you'd like your purchase gift wrapped. Cards can also be purchased here.
Pre-orders:
From time to time we offer items for pre-order. This means we don't have the item in stock just yet, but you can pre-purchase to secure your size. Orders containing pre-order items will not be shipped until we have all the items in stock. If you would like other items sooner, please place a separate order.
Furniture:
Furniture (including Mustard Made) is only available for local pick up. Please contact us for a shipping quote if you live outside the area and would like to purchase furniture.
International orders:
Check our Shipping Policy for more information about the countries we currently ship to.
For purchases made in December, we have extended our regular returns period. If you would like to return or exchange an item you must notify us by Monday 5th January. We cannot accept returns after this date.
Returns will still be subject to our normal policy, and you will be eligible for an exchange or store credit to be used at a later date.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund, unless an item is faulty.
All items must be returned in their original packaging with all tags attached. Due to hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns of swimwear, jewellery or cosmetics.
Sale items are not refundable, or able to be exchanged, unless faulty.
Purchases made during our Black Friday Sale (Wed 26th Nov - Mon 1st Dec) will be subject to our regular returns policy of 7 days from the date of delivery.
Original shipping costs cannot be refunded, and shipping for a returned item is the customer’s responsibility. We recommend using a trackable shipping method for peace of mind.
